Who am I, and why am I doing DevBootcamp?
I'm a mechanical engineer turned futures trader adding a turn to web developer to the list, because programming is interesting, and design is interesting, and because I did enough programming while I was a futures trader to be pretty sure I'd both be good at it and enjoy doing it for a living.
Personal stuff
38-year old guy from Chicago; lived in Illinois my whole life, mostly in Chicago or the northwest suburbs, although I've had sojourns in Champaign and Springfield, as well. Married 11+ years to a very patient, very understanding woman who's letting me do this DBC thing.
Hobbies and other fun things
Baseball fan (go Cubs!) of the sabermetric variety, enjoyer of complicated card games (Bridge), even more complicated board games (check out Boardgamegeek for examples), and still more complicated computer games (Crusader Kings 2, for one). Reader of science fiction and fantasy, some of it even good (standing recommendation to everyone: read The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Good stuff.)
